Navy Hooded Long Sleeve Fly Fishing Shirt — UPF 50+ with 4-Way Stretch & Thumb Holes

Navy hooded long sleeve fly fishing shirt built for unrestricted casting — UPF 50+, 4-way stretch, thumb holes, moisture-wicking quick-dry. Flatlock seams for zero chafing under waders. Custom logo, OEM/ODM from 100 pcs. Free 3D design.

A fly fishing shirt that doesn't fight back. Standard long sleeves pull across the shoulders at the top of every cast. Cuffs ride up the forearm halfway through a drift. The hood turns into a wind sock during a false cast. This shirt was built from the ground up to eliminate those problems: raglan sleeve construction clears the shoulder joint for unrestricted 10-to-2 motion, 4-way mechanical stretch moves with your body instead of resisting it, thumb holes lock the cuffs at your wrist so no skin gets exposed mid-cast, and the 3-panel hood lies flat when you don't need it and cinches tight when the morning wind kicks up. Navy color, UPF 50+ SGS-certified through the fiber. MOQ 100 pcs. Factory-direct wholesale.

    Product Description

Fly casting is the most physically demanding motion in fishing. Ten o'clock to two o'clock overhead, repeated, thousands of times a day. Every piece of clothing between your skin and the air either helps or hurts. A shirt that binds at the shoulder makes casting feel heavier by hour three. A sleeve that rides up exposes your wrist to six hours of reflected UV off the water. A hood that catches wind turns every false cast into a wrestling match with your own clothing.

Most fishing shirts are designed for spinning and baitcasting forward-facing, lower-arm-range motions. Fly fishing shirts need to be designed for vertical, overhead, full-extension casting. This is that shirt.

Raglan Sleeves The Difference You Feel on the First Cast

A standard set-in sleeve has a seam that runs directly across the top of the shoulder exactly where your arm pivots during an overhead cast. As your arm reaches the 12 o'clock position, that seam pulls tight against the deltoid, creating resistance. Over hundreds of casts, that micro-resistance accumulates into shoulder fatigue.

A raglan sleeve eliminates that seam. The sleeve extends diagonally from the underarm to the collar in one continuous panel, leaving the shoulder joint completely clear. There's no seam crossing the pivot point, so there's nothing to pull, bind, or restrict. The shirt moves with your shoulder, not against it.

Combined with 4-way mechanical stretch the fabric stretches in all four directions and recovers instantly the result is a fly fishing shirt that disappears during the cast. You feel the rod load and unload. You don't feel the shirt.

Thumb Holes Small Feature, Disproportionate Benefit

During a fly cast, your wrists rotate. The rod hand pronates and supinates continuously loading the rod on the back cast, presenting the fly on the forward cast, mending line during the drift. A standard cuff that sits loosely at the wrist will ride 58 cm up your forearm within the first twenty casts, exposing skin to UV. Sunscreen on the wrist rubs off on the cork grip. The gap between glove and cuff widens.

The thumb holes of this hooded fishing shirt solve all of this. The cuff stays anchored at the base of your thumb, regardless of wrist rotation. The sleeve covers your forearm no exposed skin, no sunscreen needed, no fabric bunching under a stripping glove. It's the single smallest feature on a fly fishing shirt that makes the biggest practical difference over an 8-hour day on the river.

The Hood Flat When You Cast, Cinched When You Wade

A loose hood on a fly fishing shirt is a liability. During a false cast, the hood inflates with wind, dragging backward and pulling the shirt collar against your neck. It's distracting at best, and at worst it throws off your timing.

DERY's 3-panel hood is cut to lie flat against the upper back when not in use no excess fabric to catch wind, no collar tug during the cast. When you need it morning dew on the river, wind picking up, sun beating down from directly overhead the stiffened visor brim blocks glare without a separate hat, and the drawcord cinches the hood snug so it stays in place without restricting head turn. One-handed adjustment via silicone toggle cord lock.

    Product advantage

    Wading-Ready All Day.

Fly fishing means standing in water often cold water, often deep enough that spray reaches your torso. The 90/10 polyester-spandex fabric wicks moisture outward and dries in under 10 minutes. If a splash soaks your sleeve during a release, it's dry by the next pool. Flatlock seams lie completely flat no raised ridges pressing into your skin under wader straps for hours on end. And the anti-odor treatment means a multi-day trip doesn't turn into a multi-odor shirt.

    FAQ

    1
Is this shirt specifically designed for fly fishing, or is it a general fishing shirt?
It's a general-purpose hooded fishing shirt engineered with features that make it especially suited to fly fishing: raglan sleeves clear the shoulder joint for overhead casting, 4-way stretch eliminates fabric resistance during the 10-to-2 motion, and the hood is designed to lie flat during false casts rather than catching wind. It works for any fishing style, but the design choices were made with fly casting mechanics in mind.
    2
Why do raglan sleeves matter for fly fishing?
A standard sleeve has a seam crossing the top of the shoulder — exactly the pivot point during overhead casting. That seam pulls tight against your deltoid with every cast, creating cumulative resistance. Raglan sleeves remove that seam entirely — the sleeve extends diagonally from underarm to collar, leaving the shoulder free to rotate without fabric binding. For a fly angler making thousands of casts a day, the difference is real.
    3
Does the hood interfere with casting?
No — when left down, the 3-panel hood lies flat against the upper back without excess fabric to catch wind. Unlike a loose sweatshirt hood that inflates during a false cast, this one stays put. When you need sun or wind protection, pull it up and cinch the drawcord — it locks in place without restricting head turn or peripheral vision.
    4
How fast does the shirt dry after wading or splashing?
Under 10 minutes in direct sun at 25°C+. The 88/12 polyester-spandex wicks moisture outward and spreads it across a larger surface area for rapid evaporation. A wet sleeve from releasing a fish is dry by the time you reach the next pool. This quick-dry performance is essential for fly fishing — standing in water all day means you'll get splashed repeatedly.
    5
Can I order this as a fly fishing guide uniform with our company logo?
Yes. DERY supplies fly fishing guide uniforms to operations worldwide. Add your guide service logo via embroidery (left chest) or screen print. We can also embroider individual guide names on the right sleeve. MOQ 100 pcs. We recommend annual ordering with reserved production slots for seasonal guide services — contact us by January for spring delivery.
    6
What should I look for in fly fishing attire for summer conditions?
Four things: (1) UPF 50+ built into the fiber, not a coating that washes out — UV reflection off the water doubles your exposure; (2) lightweight breathable fabric that wicks and dries fast — you'll be wading, sweating, and getting splashed; (3) unrestricted shoulder movement — raglan or articulated sleeves for overhead casting; (4) thumb holes or extended cuffs to protect wrists — the gap between glove and sleeve is a burn zone. This shirt checks all four.
    7
Is navy too dark for summer fly fishing? Will it be too hot?
No. Navy absorbs slightly more solar radiation than white, but the difference in skin temperature between a dark and light UPF 50+ polyester shirt is negligible — the UPF protection blocks the UV before it reaches your skin regardless of color. The moisture-wicking and airflow through the open-knit fabric matter far more than color. Navy is preferred by guides because it hides river stains and looks professional all day.
